  • 6 speakers each with 4 minutes to speak and set out main issues and hopes for Synod – We Are Church (WAC)

“Celebrating Women Hidden by the Lectionary”

  • Thursday 6pm at Caravita (Via del Caravita, 7) – Future Church
  • A prayer service and celebration of women from Scripture whose stories are omitted, made optional, truncated, relegated to a weekday, or otherwise hidden by the Roman Catholic Lectionary (readings assigned for Mass)

  • Meetings and public witness actions by WAC
  • The theme will be “Equality for All”

Sat. Oct. 12

At 2pm at Casa Maria Immacolata Hotel https://www.casamariaimmacolata.it  Vaticanelle 
  • Theatre performance – all invited. Featuring 3 women bishops in vestments discussing the question of admitting men to an all-women priesthood. To hold up a mirror to the current all-male celibacy – reversing the teaching (God loves men too…to illustrate how ridiculous the arguments are).
  • The performance will be filmed and posted to YouTube by WAC

Sun.  October 13

  • At the Angelus at noon on Sunday 13 October 2024 in St Peter’s Square WAC will be supporting Pope Francis’ call for EQUALITY. Please join us.

Other Events:

Daily Vigil

  • WOW members will gather in solidarity and prayer outside St. Peter’s with baptismal candles, symbolizing our collective commitment to the renewal of the Church. 
  • Daily October 2-26, at 7 PM organised by Women’s Ordination Worldwide

Youth Gatherings on Fridays

  • Every Friday except the 11th the DACHS-Bau a German Speaking Youth Organisation will host 
  • 18 – 19:30, International youth gathering (Discussions about the Synod with young people)
  • 20 – 20:30, Prayers with songs from Taizé, followed by Snacks and Drinks
  • Location: San Lorenzo near St Peter’s Square

LGBTQI+ group gatherings

  • Global Network of Rainbow Catholics (GNRC) will host gatherings with other LGBTQI+ groups around mid-month (dates not yet confirmed) and also intend to be there at the end when recommendations from Synod assembly become public
  • Dignity will have a presence in Rome for the entire month
